ICANN plans to create .xxx tld for Web Porn
On May 11, 2006 ICANN’s (Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers) board voted 9 to 5 against the proposal, which would have led to the creation of a .xxx domain suffix for pornography sites but today it seems like they have reviewd their decision and they plan to create seprate .xxx tld for web porns. Its a measure to clean up and have seprate tld for webporns but Porn industry rejects the proposal as it would be easy for various governments and even private companies to filter out the .xxx tld.
