Are you seller ? sold product for $500 and got chargebacked ? you must understand that you will be at loss. Here are few ideas of how to protect yourself from fraudulent orders.
- Never Give Instant Download or access or ship immediately.
- Check if the Transaction Ip address location matches with the credit card statement address location.you can use whois.sc just type whois.sc/ipaddresshere. (Geolocation)
- Telephone and ask the buyer for transaction verification. Use Skype it costs you pennies for international voice calls.
- If using paypal never accecpt payments from un-verified buyers.
- Ask the buyers to fax any ID proofs for verification.
- Possibly ask the buyer to send money via Bank Transfer or Cheque.
- Avoid Orders from free email accounts like gmail,yahoo or msn
- Deny orders from “High Risk Countries” According to a ClearCommerce survey, the top 12 international sources for online fraud are Ukraine, Indonesia, Yugoslavia, Lithuania, Egypt, Romania, Bulgaria, Turkey, Russia, Pakistan, Malaysia, and Israel.
- Deny orders from proxy ip address.
- Check whether the phone number is valid and located within the correct ZIP code.
